Service Name: Integrated Crop Management
Integrated crop management for sustainable cropping systems on the Canadian prairies, including:
- forecasting infestations of grasshopper, wheat midge, Bertha Armyworm, root maggots;
- surveys to identify emerging weed problems in crops; and
- biological and biorational weed and insect control strategies.

Service Name: Clubroot on Canola
Sustainable management of clubroot on canola
- help mitigate risks associated with clubroot spread across the prairie region;
- provide more accurate information on disease distribution, pathogen biology and dispersal;and
- develop strategies for disease control including nutrient management, agronomic/cultural, chemical and biological control.

Service Name: Integrated Strategies for Genetic Improvement of Oilseed and Legume Crops
Integrated Strategies for Genetic Improvement of Oilseed and Legume Crops
- the development of improved germplasm for the benefit of farmers, the agriculture industry and consumers;
- focused on genetic enhancement of canola and mustard;
- develop new oilseed, legume and industrial crop platforms to support the emerging bioeconomy; and
- develop new species to be adapted for the Prairies creating novel products to expand current markets.

Service Name: Canadian Genetic Resources Program
Canadian Genetic Resources Program
Research Objectives and Capabilities:
- acquire, maintain, regenerate, document, characterize and evaluate diverse plant and animal germplasm;
- contribute to meeting Canada's international commitments to the Convention on Biological Diversity and FAO International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture; and
- 100,000 accessions, including the world base collections of barley and oats.

Service Name: Bioproducts and bioresources
Bioproducts and bioresources
- initiatives on biopesticides, as well as on biofuels, protein production and engineering, biomaterials and bioactives for health and wellness that coalesce around current crops and new industrial crop platforms; and
- development of biopesticide organisms and bioactive compounds against weeds, insect pests and plant diseases as reduced risk pest control products that address public demand for safer foods and environmental health.
